Insurance & Coverage for Rentals
At Valued Rentals, the protection of our vehicles — and more importantly, our customers — is a top priority. In compliance with applicable state laws, we require all drivers to carry full coverage auto insurance before getting behind the wheel of any vehicle in our fleet.
Unlike many rental platforms that charge you extra for coverage, Valued Rentals does not charge you for car insurance. We simply ask that your existing personal policy meets our minimum requirements. It’s that straightforward.
We Do Not Accept SR-22 Insurance
Valued Rentals does not accept SR-22 filings or high-risk insurance certificates under any circumstances. If your current policy is an SR-22, you will not be eligible to rent from our fleet. Please contact us prior to booking if you have any questions regarding eligibility.
How Your Personal Insurance Works for Rentals
In most cases, your personal full-coverage auto insurance policy extends to rental vehicles. As long as your coverage limits meet our minimum requirements, you are protected from being personally liable for damages that may occur during your rental period.
Before You Book — Insurance Checklist
Use this quick checklist before completing your reservation:
I have an active full coverage auto insurance policy
My policy includes comprehensive and collision coverage
My liability limits are at least $100,000 / $300,000 / $100,000
I can provide proof of insurance at the time of pickup
Insurance for Private Drivers, Photoshoots & Video Shoots
Planning a photoshoot, film production, music video, or content creation project? No personal insurance is required for photoshoot or private driver bookings. Our vehicles and staff are fully covered for these types of engagements.
You are only required to provide a full coverage auto insurance policy when you are personally operating one of our vehicles as the driver.
If you’re unsure which category your booking falls into, simply contact our team and we’ll make sure you’re set up correctly from the start.
Frequently Asked Questions — Insurance
Do I need to purchase insurance through Valued Rentals?
No. Unlike many rental companies and peer-to-peer platforms, Valued Rentals does not sell or charge for insurance. We simply require that you carry your own qualifying full coverage policy.
What if my policy doesn't meet the minimum limits?
You would need to contact your insurance provider to adjust your coverage levels before your rental date. Alternatively, you may explore short-term insurance options that meet our requirements. Our team can advise you further.
Does my credit card insurance cover exotic car rentals?
Credit card rental coverage varies widely and often excludes high-value or exotic vehicles. We do not accept credit card coverage as a substitute for a full personal insurance policy. Please check directly with your card issuer and confirm in writing before relying on it.
What happens if I'm involved in an accident?
In the event of an accident, you must notify Valued Rentals immediately. Your personal insurance policy will be the primary coverage for damages. You may also be subject to a security deposit hold pending the outcome of any insurance claim.
Can I add a second driver to my rental?
Yes. Any additional driver must also carry qualifying full coverage insurance that meets our minimum requirements and must be present at pickup to show proof of their policy.
Do you accept insurance from all providers?
We accept most major personal auto insurance providers. We do not accept SR-22 filings, temporary learner policies, or policies with coverage limits below our stated minimums.
Driver's License Verification Required
For the safety and security of all parties, Valued Rentals requires all renters to have a valid driver’s license on file before confirming any booking. This is a mandatory step in our rental process and applies to all vehicles in our fleet.
